Why We Created This YogA Retreat

Made for Mindful Minds

We created our yoga and walking retreat in the Lake District to bring together two of the things we love most: mindful time on the mat and the simple joy of walking in nature. The Lake District is a truly special place with its peaceful valleys, winding woodland trails, open ridge lines and sparkling tarns invite you to slow down and connect with the landscape in a deeper way. If you’ve done our Snowdon (Eryri) hike, this is your natural next step: mindful miles, big views, lasting confidence.

UNIQUE YOGA AND walking RETREAT

Our Lake District Yoga and Walking Retreat offers an unmatched experience with direct access to iconic trails from the shores of Windermere. Led by qualified mountain leaders, you’ll explore hidden valleys, airy ridgelines and waterfall-packed ghylls. Each hike is paired with restorative yoga to aid recovery, improve mobility and deepen your connection to nature. This retreat blends adventure and ease, with luxury accommodation for a truly transformative stay.

October brings soulful walking in the Lake District: burnished bracken, gold woods and crisp, clear air. Days are shorter and cooler, with changeable skies, misty mornings and vivid light after showers. Enjoy quieter trails than summer, with varied routes from lakeside ambles to satisfying ridge walks.

ACCOMMODATION

3 luxury nights

Stay at our luxurious 5-star eco-friendly Georgian house located near Ambleside on the shores of Lake Windermere. Nestled within the stunning Graythwaite Estate, this exclusive retreat offers elegant en-suite rooms with views of the lake or the woodland. Enjoy private lake access, perfect for daily wild swims, and experience a blend of luxury and tranquility.

All meals included

Indulge in a nourishing plant-based menu designed to fuel your body and mind and complement your active, wellness-focused retreat. Enjoy seasonal vegan meals, fresh juices, and wholesome snacks. Each meal is crafted to support well-being after your wild swimming and yoga sessions. All our retreats are alcohol-free.

Activities

Walking

Guided by experienced mountain leaders, our accessible walking experiences focus on connection with the landscape and the joy of a the Lakeland fells. Over the weekend you’ll explore the best of the Lake District, woodland paths, ridge trails and tarn-side routes. With 2-3 hours moderate walking each day you will return feeling fit and rejuvenated.

Activities

Yoga

Daily yoga practices will energise and restore your body, with morning vinyasa flow sessions to awaken and evening restorative yoga to relax. Each session is designed to complement the physical benefits of wild swimming, focusing on breath work, alignment, and deep relaxation. It is the perfect complement to your wellness retreat experience.

treatments

Massage

Indulge in optional holistic treatments, including massage therapies with organic oils to soothe muscles, ease tension, and promote deep relaxation. These treatments are available at an additional cost, offering the perfect opportunity to unwind and enhance your recovery after your walks.

SCHEDULE

Retreat schedule

Friday: Arrivals 5pm, cake and juice, evening yoga, followed by welcome dinner.

Saturday/Sunday: Morning yoga, breakfast, guided walk, lunch, massages, cake and juice, evening yoga and dinner.

Monday: Morning yoga and farewell brunch, departures 10am.

Laura, founder of Zest Life shares over 20 years of yoga expertise in a dynamic, yet restorative and nurturing style of teaching. Taking her inspiration from Ashtanga yoga everyone will find challenge and rest in equal measure, as they flow through physical postures, breath work and peaceful relaxations.
